How to Drape a Saree

Start with the base
Choose the blouse, petticoat, and footwear first. A stable base improves drape, hem balance, and pleat placement.
Build the pleats gradually
Tuck the saree evenly around the waist, then form front pleats with consistent width before pinning and settling the pallu.
Adjust for occasion
For weddings, keep the pallu fuller and more structured. For office or daily wear, a slimmer pallu and lighter pleat volume work better.
